Life and work of Miroslav Petříček in interactive images, where we will see ourselves and society differently. Thinking (in) motion through the lens of one of the most significant and acclaimed thinkers in modern Czech history—depicted in the images of history and the video game World of Tanks, university and football, pulp fiction and conspiracy theories, Charta 77 and hydrometeorology, family and art, or even a basement with the urn of Petříček’s mother as a crypt.
Petříček’s fundamental contribution to Czech thought lies in his role as a philosopher, translator and educator, bringing into our intellectual landscape the most influential philosophical movement of the second half of the 20th century—post-structuralism. This phenomenon can be characterized as thinking (in) motion, a response to the dominant principle of the Western philosophical tradition focused on establishing ideological, metaphysical and theological structures.
